Our Wines & Cellar Door

Wine by Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages

Enjoy boutique wines made from grapes grown right here on the property.

The south-east Queensland climate allows for a diverse range of grape varieties, making the Scenic Rim one of the fastest growing wine regions in the country.

Petit verdot, shiraz, grenache and mourvèdre grapes are all grown right here in our vineyard. The grapes are sent to a local winemaker who does our bottling and distilling.

All our cottages come stocked with a full range of our wines, and of course you’ll always find some chilled for you in the fridge.

Cellar door open to the public, Saturday & Sunday 10am to 4pm April through to August. A 10% discount applies for case sales. Mail orders can be arranged for individual bottles or case lots, postage costs additional.

Check out our all-inclusive meals and accommodation packages here. See the delicious hampers that we can deliver to your cottage door during your stay here.

Tasting notes from Peter Scudamore Smith, Master of Wine
We recently had Peter Scudamore Smith, Master of Wine rate some of our wine. “The Barney Creek Shiraz Mourvedre Grenache was quite amazing. It is a deep-flavoured red and the only way you can taste it is to go there and stay in one of the cottages. Grange buyers look for flavours like that, it’s a real mouthful of wine. I had a fun time travelling around the region. The wines really respect where they come from and have a real sense of place about them. Everything is in sync – the vista, the taste and the people presenting them.” – Peter Scudamore Smith (read full story here or watch video clip from Channel 7’s The Great Day Out) His notes on our wines are as follows:
